Motorsports 101

There are basically two main branches of motorsports – two wheels and four wheels.

Within these two very broad scopes, motorsports is then focused into a variety of different specialisations depending on the types of machines used and the terrain it is run on.
For instance, motorcycle racing can be held either on the streets (road racing), in the circuit or off roads (motorcross), or even a combination of all three (enduros).

The same goes for cars, either running within the safe confines of a circuit (karting, F1, touring cars), street or off roads (rallying, 4x4).

There are many clubs out there that can identify a person’s inclination towards a particular line of motorsports.

It’s a matter of personal preference and to some extent, the person’s body built. For example, a bigger built racer would not be suitable to race underbone bikes while racing superbike requires more upper body strengths.

All forms of racing however, requires a fair amount of intelligence and a huge dose of bravado.
