It’s all about taking calculated risks, and illegal racing, no matter how you look at it, will never be considered as a calculated risk. It actually doesn’t take much calculation to realise that it is stupid to throw away a life, more so the lives of others.
So, if you like racing, take it to the circuits. Seasoned veterans will always be willing to show the way around, so don’t be afraid to ask. A few attempts on track will tell whether one has got what it takes to be the next Malaysian or even world champion.
If not, there are always other avenues to channel that burning motor racing passion of yours.
Carl Fogarty, four times World Superbike champion once said, “If you can’t be a world champion, help others be one.”
He couldn’t be any more spot on.
